Universe Swimming Club Mauritius Swimming Policies

OUR POLICY

We offer quality instruction that aims for progression and perfection each lesson and allows each child to reach their full potential in a non-threatening environment.

ADMISSION FEES

There is an annual registration fee of Rs 800 & Rs 500 per swimmer and full payment must be made during registration. The registration fees apply for the year September to December and from January to April. Please note that all fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.

SWIMMING FEES

Each payment must be made in advance on the first week of the month. Weekly payments are not acceptable during sessions and should be made within the first week. A class position is only guaranteed when all fees are paid in full each month.

Please keep in mind that the Universe Swimming Club’s payment deadline is the 15th of each month. If you do not pay by the 15th, you must pay a late fee of Rs 1000, and your place in the club is not guaranteed if the fees are still unpaid.

REFUND POLICY

There will be no refunds for any reason. Once we have reserved a spot for you in a class, that spot is considered sold. When it comes to class scheduling, it is your responsibility to ensure that your vacations, appointments, and health issues do not conflict with the lesson for which you have registered. To summarize, payments cannot be transferred from one family to another.

CANCELLATION POLICY

All cancellations must be submitted within two weeks, and you must include your child’s name and registration information in the mail. To ensure that next month’s billing is pro-rated, cancellations must be submitted by the last day of the month. If you do not notify the club of your intention to cancel your membership, you will be subject to a fine for violating the club’s lesson cancellation policy.

SWIMMING EQUIPEMENT

Swimsuits – Swimmers are strongly encouraged to wear their competitive suit respectively.

Goggles – mostly use of goggle during classes are fully motivated to wear a pair of these during lessons.

Swim Caps – All swimmers with hair below their ears are incited to wear a swim cap.

Towel – Every Swimmers should bring their own towel and sun cream and a pair of sandals at the club.

Absence and Remedial lessons

  • You are eligible for one remedial class every 30 days if the absence is reported at least 4 hours prior to your scheduled lesson time.
  • To maintain the integrity of our classes, we ask you to report an absence attestation as soon as possible.
  • Report an absence by calling & sending an email, uniswimlesson@gmail.com (Notification must be received at least 4 hours prior to your scheduled lesson time to be eligible for a make-up class).
  • No calls and no presence during the swimming classes won’t be accept.
  • Any payment is unauthorized per session when missing a course.
  • To schedule a remedial class, email uniswimlesson@gmail.com

Remedial classes are not available on a walk-in basis.

  • If you miss a make-up class, it cannot be replaced. Note: We will do our very best to get you scheduled for a make-up class as soon as possible; however, they are based on availability and not guaranteed. No deduction on fees when you miss the lesson, and we won’t accept or tolerate any payment of missing lesson of your child when absent.

PUBLIC HOLIDAYS

For your information during public holidays the club will remain closed.

BAD WEATHER

In case of bad weather, if it is raining at your home or business, do not assume it is raining here. We do swim in the rain, but not if conditions are dangerous. Please do not call us to check on the weather. If classes are canceled, we will send an immediate text message to alert you of the cancellation. If you choose not to come because of the weather and we have not canceled, you will lose your lesson. If the pool has to close for unexpected maintenance reasons, this will be treated as a weather day.

PARENTAL SUPERVISION

Parents must supervise their children before and after their swimming lessons. Parents must always stay in the Club property during their child’s swimming lesson and must be punctual at each course. Furthermore, the poolside is strictly out-of-bounds for parents. Arrived at the end of swimming classes your child is not authorized to stay in the water by security.  If you wish to speak to any of our Swim Teachers, please write an email on uniswimlesson@gmail.com or call onMyT+23057829776 Emtel+23054511932 then the head coach teacher will arrange a meeting.

Note: Each payment by Cash must be placed in an envelope writing the Name & Surname of the swimmer, the group lesson he or she practices, the date of payment and the sum of the lesson allocated respectively.

RULES & REGULATIONS

  • No swimming alone for beginners.
  • Members 12 years of age and under must be accompanied by a responsible   adult member.
  • No running or jumping off rocks and ledges.
  • No outside food or beverages allowed, expect for water.
  • Proper swimwear is required.
  • Swimming Caps are compulsory, and you must take a shower before swimming.
  • Parents are not permitted to intervene during training lessons, except in an emergency.
  • No Swimming lesson during the public holiday.
  • Swim diapers must be worm-proof.
  • No one should enter the pool if they are sick, have diarrhea, have infections, or have open wounds.
  • Punctually is highly requested as there will be no extra time in case of lateness.
  • In case Bad weather, a replacement date will be communicated to you later by the coach.
